With massive supplies of pork and beef flooding onto the domestic markets this year, it’s critical to continue building export markets to boost overseas sales and support livestock prices, officials with the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) said last week.

"I think the big issue we are facing is the tsunami of meat that we have coming onto the market now," said Phil Seng, president and CEO for the export promotion organization said during a conference call. "It’s important to sell more product all over the world and I think we can do that."
