Farm Bureau is urging support for H.R. 1090, the Technologies for Energy Security Act, to extend the 30 percent credit for electricity produced from wind that is sold to an unrelated person (the grid) through 2019. The credit would be 26 percent for 2020 and 22 percent for 2021. Currently, the investment credit for 2017 is 24 percent, 18 percent for 2018 and 12 percent for 2019. The bill also extends tax incentives for solar energy, fuel cells, micro-turbines and thermal energy.
