Northey: Iowa water quality plan is gaining momentum

The Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy is gaining momentum, and more farmers are stepping up to adopt practices designed to reduce soil erosion and improve water quality in the state, Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey said last week.
"I think we are doing a very good job of turning this ship around and engaging Iowa farmers in water quality efforts," Northey said. "Farmers are excited about this and are investing a lot of money out of their own pockets to make it work."
