Minn. buffer rule highlights land use issues

A buffer battle in Minnesota this spring provided a glimpse at increasing governmental efforts to control farmland use, Minnesota Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Doug Busselman said last week at the Midwest Commodity Conference in Davenport.
The Iowa Farm Bureau hosted the conference with other Midwestern Farm Bureau commodity staff members, who discussed a range of issues including the environment, farm labor, technology and livestock.
