Iowa legislators last week continued work on the details of a potential income tax reform bill and made significant progress on the budget bills for fiscal 2019. Three budget bills moved through the full House, and the Senate moved seven through the Appropriations Committee.  

The Ag and Natural Resources Budget includes status quo funding of $5.375 million for the Water Quality Initiative and $7.875 million for the Conservation Cost-Share Program. The Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund (RIIF) budget also includes status quo funding of $5.2 million for the Water Quality Initiative and $1.875 million for the Ag Drainage Well Closure Program.
