On Tuesday, August 11, Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig presented the 'Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award' to Karl Fox, a Mitchell County farmer who custom feeds cattle and has a custom pig nursery.
“Karl is someone who is focused on taking care of his animals and doing things right on his farm while also being active in his community. The Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor is designed to recognize livestock farmers like Karl that can be found all across the state and who contribute so much to our communities,” Northey said.
Fox has been a leader in Iowa agriculture and currently serves as President of the Mitchell County Agricultural Society (Fair Board) and has previously served as President of the Mitchell County Corn Growers, Mitchell County Pork Producers and Mitchell County Farm Bureau.
