“Beans were OK this year, but not quite as good as expected,” Hammen said Oct. 10, reporting yields in the 58 to 68 bushels per acre range. These disappointing numbers were balanced by better-than-expected corn yields, which averaged about 225 bushels per acre. He is focused on wrapping up corn this week. “Stalks are getting a little lazy and the moisture is low,” Hammen said.
