Iowa crops benefit from timely rainfall, expect a steamy August

Overall, July was a wetter month in Iowa than I was expecting and many parts of the state finished the month with near- to above-normal rainfall. A few received around twice the normal amount.
There were some pockets of below-normal rainfall into late July, but the statewide average amount should be above normal.
