Iowa co-op builds massive grain bin to handle growing harvests

A cooperative in northeast Iowa hopes the addition of a new grain bin — perhaps the largest in Iowa — will allow the company to better serve its farmers.
Dunkerton Cooperative in Black Hawk County plans to have the company’s newest structure, a nearly 1.3-million-bushel capacity bin, completed in time for harvest this year. Dunkerton Cooperative’s General Manager Harlyn Vander Linden said the timing was right to pursue the project.
