Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds last week declared April “Meat on the Table Month” in Iowa.
The governor’s proclamation cites the facts that Iowa feeds the world with beef, pork and other meats; Iowa farmers lead in animal care; meat is a wholesome and nutritious protein; and livestock raisers are under unfair scrutiny from ill-informed politicians and social media influencers.
Iowa Farm Bureau applauded the governor’s proclamation. “Iowa Farm Bureau appreciates Gov. Reynolds' support for the hardworking men and women across the supply chain who are helping put high-quality, real meat proteins on our plates through her 'Meat on the Table Month' proclamation."
