The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 11 cents, averaging $2.94 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $2.62 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $76.44.
- Brent crude oil rose $2.31 and is currently priced at $81.45.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $79.06 and Brent crude was at $84.96.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.94 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 11 cents from last week’s price and are down 31 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.26, up 11 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 26 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.80.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.14 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 28 cents lower than the national average of $4.08.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.20 for U87-E10, $2.51 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.77 for ULSD#2, $3.07 for ULSD#1, and $1.86 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Propane prices averaged $1.59 per gallon statewide.
- Home heating oil prices averaged $3.22 per gallon statewide.
- Natural gas prices fell 36 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $1.61/MMbtu.
