Effort to revive state beef checkoff moves forward

Iowa’s cattle farmers are one step closer in voting whether or not they want to reinstate the state’s beef checkoff, industry officials said recently at a BeefMeet hosted in Atlantic.
In late 2015, all Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) producer members received a survey to gauge interest in a state checkoff initiative. More than 900 survey results were tabulated and showed that 80 percent supported reinstating the 50-cent state checkoff.
