The public comment period for pyrethroids, a popular, safe and effective class of synthetic insecticides for agriculture, residential and industrial uses, has been extended.

Iowa corn and soybean growers are urged to comment to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) about how they use these products, which are applied on more than 14 million acres of soybeans and more than 9 million acres of corn in the U.S. each year, said Rick Robinson, Iowa Farm Bureau environmental policy advisor.
