Iowa Farm Bureau Rural Veterinarian Loan Repayment Incentive Program

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) is committed to addressing the urgent need for veterinarians in rural Iowa, ensuring both quality animal healthcare and continued support for our hardworking farmers.

To support this mission, IFBF will award up to $25,000 in loan repayment incentives to four individuals who practice veterinarian medicine in Iowa through its Iowa Farm Bureau Rural Veterinarian Loan Repayment Incentive Program.

To qualify for the program, applicants must either be in their final year of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program or have completed a DVM within the past five years, with a commitment to practicing in Iowa for four consecutive years.

Preference will be given to applicants who are large animal veterinarians and/or those in a shortage area in Iowa as identified by the USDA; graduates from an Iowa high school, technical school, college, university and/or institution; and individuals with demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement and/or a commitment to rural Iowa.

The application period is closed and will open in March. Please check back for guidelines and details on how to apply.
