County Specific Decision Aids

The 2014 Farm Bill provides several alternative farm programs for mitigating farm production and price risks. The purpose of the charts in each file is to illustrate differences between the two primary programs created by the 2014 Farm Bill (Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage) and how they behave across counties and between crops.

Additionally, these charts incorporate traditional (Revenue Protection) and new (Supplemental Coverage Option) crop insurance products to give a sense for how complete risk protection strategies vary across Iowa counties. These charts are designed to help Iowa producers understand the implications for selecting one program over another, as well as to identify options for adapting the programs best suited for their farms.
