Weather pattern looks favorable for summer crops

The month of May finished on a warmer than normal note in most of Iowa, and it appears that monthly temperatures in a large part of the state will average fairly close to normal.
May precipitation varied widely across the state, but it looks like the trend will be for near- to below-normal amounts in most areas, and smaller areas of above-normal amounts.
