State beef checkoff efforts already paying off in promoting beef

The beef checkoff is at a historic point in time according to Chris Freland, executive director of the Iowa Beef Industry Council. This is the first time in history that there are national and state beef checkoff laws functioning together at the same time, she said.
Freland explains that the $1 per head National Beef Checkoff has been promoting beef since collections began in 1986.
