Grassley, Ernst say last-minute introduction leaves too little time to pass the bill during lame-duck session.
Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow released text of her 1,397-page farm bill on Nov. 18 with just a few weeks remaining before Congress adjourns. However, with a number of other pressing issues requiring action during the lame-duck session, including a government funding bill, the likelihood of passing a new farm bill appears to be slim.
