Session addresses Iowa Farm Bureau priority issues

The Iowa Legislature passed several bills addressing Farm Bureau members’ priorities during the recently-ended 2018 session, including tax measures important to agriculture, long-term funding to support farmers’ water quality and soil conservation efforts and a measure to address Iowans’ access to affordable health care.
In addition, lawmakers approved funding to go toward the construction of a veterinary diagnostic lab at Iowa State University (ISU) and passed a provision to require the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to provide the Legislature a report on its acquisition of privately-owned land.
