Senate bill shifts mental health funding to state budget

The Iowa Senate last week introduced a tax bill that includes language to completely remove the costs of Iowa’s mental health system from the backs of property taxpayers. The bill, Senate File 587, passed the Senate Ways and Means Committee and is eligible for debate on the Senate floor this week.
