As is typically the case, crop market participants tend to focus on the supply side of the balance sheet. Primarily, that’s because supply is usually easier to see and quantify. Demand analysis is much more difficult because much of the short-term forecasting is based on nuances that are not easily discernable. Even long-range demand analysis is easier because models can be constructed to project how the demand base might evolve.
