Pork checkoff fee to be reduced next year

The national pork checkoff fee will be lowered to 35 cents per $100 value per live animal as of Jan. 1, 2023, after delegates to this year’s Pork Forum, held earlier this month in Louisville, Kentucky, overwhelmingly approved the change. Currently, the pork checkoff rate is 40 cents per $100 value per live animal. The change represents a 12.5% reduction in fees paid by farmers. The proposal was approved by 94%...
