Pork Queen’s mission: educate consumers

Long before Clare Conley was crowned the 2017 Iowa Pork Queen, she was involved in the pork industry and promoting the product.
Conley grew up working on her family’s farrow-to-finish swine and row crop farm in rural Cherokee. Conley has promoted the swine industry at many local events. She helped in grilling events as Little Miss Pigtails in Cherokee County, and as the 2016 Cherokee County Pork Queen.
Her involvement in 4-H also involved pork: she showed pigs, sheep and horses, and also held various leadership positions within her club. She served as president of her club, treasurer of the Cherokee County Youth 4-H Council and served on the 2016-2017 State 4-H Council. She also earned the State Swine 4-H Project...
