Planting Progress and Crops Emerged

According to the latest USDA/NASS Crop Progress report farmers made significant planting progress last week across the state. The corn crop in Iowa is 85% planted which now jumped ahead of the 5-year average of 75% complete. In Iowa, 28% of the corn crop and 2% of soybeans have emerged. Soybean planting progress in Iowa is now 40% complete as of May 14th, which is also ahead of the 5-year average.
