In October, Ag in the Classroom visited Kindergarten students at Tilford and Keystone Elementary. Since it was National Pork Month, we learned all about pigs! We read the book Welcome to Our Farm! from the National Pork Board that takes us through a pig farm and shows us the key elements to running a pig farm. Students then colored a pig and a farmer after learning about the different breeds of pigs. They were then able to glue them both to construction paper and draw a farm for the pig and farmer. The students enjoyed learning pigs could be different colors, especially red!
