Emerging Concepts in Biogas Digestion Wednesday, June 2 (12 pm - 1 pm)

Edward Johnstonbaugh, extension program specialist at Penn State, will focus on the fundamentals of design and operation of anaerobic digesters that generate electricity in a combined heat and power format. He will explain how system efficiency is fundamental to successful renewable energy production.

Matthew McVey, a doctoral graduate student at Penn State, will cover emerging concepts and current research interests in the field of anaerobic digestion. He will discuss new and emerging feedstocks, processes for enhancing digestion performance, novel markets for digestion products, and the necessity for new business models to be designed around farm digesters.
