New Bill Would Extend, Reform Biodiesel Tax Credit

With the biodiesel tax credit set to expire at the end of the year, Farm Bureau is encouraging lawmakers to act on the recently introduced Biodiesel Tax Incentive Reform and Extension Act of 2016 (H.R. 5240). The bill would provide for a multi-year extension and restructuring of the biodiesel tax credit.
“Policies that create a diverse, domestic energy supply fuel America’s economic growth and prosperity while strengthening energy security and bolstering rural economies. Further development and use of renewable fuel sources like biodiesel are critical to our nation’s energy future,” AFBF President Zippy Duvall said in a letter to Rep. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.), lead sponsor of the measure.
