Iowa FFA chapters will celebrate National FFA Week Feb. 17-24 with a variety of events including teacher appreciation breakfasts, Ag Olympics competitions and community service projects to demonstrate the value that FFA and ag education bring to schools and communities. The week-long tradition began in 1947, coinciding with the week of President George Washington’s birthday in recognition of his agricultural legacy.

The Iowa FFA Association has 19,200 members and 263 chapters statewide. In addition, there are 285 agriculture education programs in Iowa serving 34,000 high school and middle school students.
