NRCS shuffles field staff to improve service

Farmers will see improved services following staff reorganization at Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) field offices in Iowa, said Kurt Simon, state conservationist for NRCS in Iowa.
Under the plan implemented this month, each Iowa NRCS field office will have its own district conservationist. Previously, only 34 of the 100 county field offices had their own district conservationist, while the other offices had shared management.
Simon said lack of daily visibility from district conservationists was a common complaint from conservation partners and customers since he began his tenure with Iowa NRCS in 2015.
