This week, the graph shows an early look at how 2019 new-crop corn prices (short red bold line) compare with last year’s (2018, blue line) prices and the five-year average pattern (green dotted line). Prices this year are close to the 5-year average pattern so far with prices just above $4.    Look at your own price opportunities for new-crop delivery compared to your costs of production. Costs per bushel are impossible to know before harvest, but one way to estimate is by using your historical yield average to calculate cost per bushel.
