U.S. cattle inventory flat on month
Cattle and calves on feed in the United States, for feedlots with capacity of 1,000 or more head, totaled 11.3 million head on Sept. 1, 2022. This was slightly above the total on Sept. 1, 2021, and marked the second highest Sept. 1 inventory since the report series began in 1996.
