Joint venture to make renewable gas on dairies

Digesters will generate renewable natural gas from dairy cow manure in 7 states.

Dairy farms in Iowa and six other states will join a project led by Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and Maas Energy Works to generate re­­newable natural gas (RNG) from gas collected by dairy digesters. 

The project will capture methane from the manure of approximately 35,000 cows on nine farms in Colorado, South Dakota, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, Nebraska and New Mexico.
