Seattle start-up Carbon Robotics is raising funds and advancing the technology platform for its cutting-edge LaserWeeder across a broad range of crops.

A Washington-based agricultural technology company has introduced a groundbreaking solution that leverages artificial intelligence and high-precision lasers to identify and eliminate weeds in commercial farming operations.

Carbon Robotics’ LaserWeeder targets weeds in their meristem stage, using thermal energy from powerful carbon dioxide lasers to destroy them without disturbing the soil or crops.

Powered by a tractor’s power take-off (PTO), which drives a generator, the LaserWeeder runs on electricity and is considered a viable alternative to traditional chemical applications.
