La Nina conditions elevate risk of below normal rainfall

A cool start to May was followed by a warmer pattern with some record high temperatures in the 90s and variable temperatures the remainder of the month.
May precipitation was somewhat variable across Iowa with most amounts near to below normal and only a smaller number of above normal amounts.
A few of the wettest locations received more than 6 inches of rain, especially in eastern Iowa....
