July Egg and Turkey Price Update

Egg prices continue to remain at lower levels since recovering from the avian influenza outbreak when prices hit $2.74/dozen. Grade A Large egg prices (New York, delivered to store), are currently at $0.78/dozen as shown below. However, prices vary from state to state with some stores reportedly selling eggs for as low as $0.49/dozen.
Turkey prices for whole hens hit $1.38/lb during avian influenza, but have since declined and are currently at $1.01/lb. Prices saw higher levels in late 2016, but in 2017, turkey prices for whole hens have been around $0.95/lb to $1.02/lb.
Fresh turkey breast prices have seen a recent decline and are currently at $1.71/lb as shown in the graph below.
