Farmers in the area are wrapping up earlage, and a few have started on high-moisture corn, Peelen said Sept. 18. “Some are starting on soybeans. It’s just a trickle, but it’ll probably be wide open on Saturday,” he said. Adjusted corn yields are highly variable, ranging from less than 100 bushels to more than 240 bushels per acre. It’s still dry after just 0.5 inch of rain this month.
