“We’re not catching any rain, and I doubt it would help us anymore now,” Sievers said Aug. 27. Silage chopping is wrapped up in the area, and farmers will likely be harvesting corn for grain in a couple of weeks, he said. Early planted soybean fields are starting to change color, Sievers said. The lack of moisture has hurt pod fill, he said.
