Harvest has begun in a handful of early-planted corn and soybean fields, but most crops aren’t ready yet, Dreith said Sept. 13. “It’s going to be a later harvest around here,” he said. His hand-shelled corn tested at 24 percent moisture. His earliest soybeans are just starting to turn, and Group 2.3 varieties are still green. Soybean yields should be helped by 2 inches of rain this month.
