“Beans are just staring to change color, but things have slowed down because of the cool weather,” Fehr said Sept. 6. Some farmers have started chopping corn for silage, and there have been reports of highly variable yields so far, he said. “There is going to be some decent yields here, but it won’t be like last year.” Recent rains have added size to the beans and increased pod counts, Fehr added.
