Some early soybeans could be ready to harvest next week, but other fields are still pretty green, Vander Velde said Sept. 6. “Some corn is black-layered, and some is not quite yet,” he said. “We’re getting some ear worms in poor spots.” There is also a little gray leaf spot and common rust showing up, he said. Fields are wet after more than 3 inches of rain last week.
