Fungicide applications have finished on corn and soybeans, Hoffman said July 29. Even with dry weather, quite a few farmers applied fungicides in an effort to keep crops green. “We’re in dire need of rain again,” he said. “On the lighter ground, if we miss this chance (last weekend), we’re in trouble.” Rootworm beetle pressure was very high, especially in corn-on-corn.
