“The dry spell broke with 2 inches of rain two weeks ago and another 1.5 inches last week, Morey said Aug. 17. A hailstorm stripped soybeans across about a 5-mile stretch, although Morey’s fields were spared. “There are some spots where it’s just the stems left. It took the pods off all the way down.” He’s planning to cut fourth crop alfalfa soon and bale CRP acres that were released.” Tanner Brass - Franklin County
