Corn ears are tipping back as extremely dry conditions continue, Hoffman said Aug. 12. “On the light ground, it’s really drying up fast,” he said. “Silage is starting to roll.” Some farmers are spraying spider mites in soybeans, which still have potential. “Most of them are podded all the way to the top, but they’re going to need a rain to finish,” said Hoffman.
