“I’m getting my sprayer ready to put fungicide and insecticide on beans,” Ten Napel said Aug. 8. Aerial fungicide applications were made on corn. “There’s a lot of that this year. Probably more than I’ve ever seen.” Gray leaf spot is showing up in corn and thistle caterpillars were attacking beans. “Beans are finally canopied on 30-inch rows, but there’s not a lot of blooms or pods.”
