“We got a shower this morning that we needed, and we’re hoping for more,” Peelen said July 23. The slightly cooler weather last week was better for pollination, he said. Corn is in full tassel, and farmers are having fungicides applied with planes and high boy sprayers, Peelen said. Farmers with oats are likely to start harvesting this week, he said.
