“We could use a rain. We just got a few sprinkles here, and bigger rains have been hard to come by," Sievers said July 16. Cornfields still look good and have tasseled, he said. Many farmers are having fungicides applied on corn, Sievers said. Soybean fields also look good, but will need more rain in the coming weeks as they start to set pods, he said.
