“We’re finally getting some rain,” Hoffman said May 27. He had about 0.9 inch at his farm, and amounts around the county ranged from 0.1 to 1.25 inches. “Weeds are starting to come. We didn’t really get enough preplant moisture to get herbicides activated,” he said. “Sprayers will be running when it dries out.” Alfalfa could be ready to cut this week, he added.
