“We’ve had only spotty rains here, so we’re making good progress,” Fehr said May 11. Many farmers are wrapping up soybean planting and applications of pre-emerge herbicide, while others are still planting corn, he said. “It’s kind of all over the board here.” Early planted corn fields are starting to emerge and should start taking off as the temperatures warm up, Fehr said.
