Iowa's premier weekly crop reports 5/16/2018

Vander Velde estimated corn planting at 30 percent complete. “We had about three good days” in the past two weeks, he said May 10. “We got some of our beans in, because that was the field that was ready.” Soil moisture is maxed out after another 2 inches of rain last week. Farmers will start looking at shorter maturities if conditions don’t improve the next two weeks, he said.
