“We need more sunshine and wind around here, and the forecast looks good for that,” Glienke said May 4. “I think a lot of people will be going by this weekend.” There is a wide range of progress on corn planting in the area, with some farmers done or nearly done and others holding back until fields dry and warm up, he said. “A lot of people got dinged by a cold spell last year and are being more cautious this year.”
